We are happy to have ‘soon doctors to be’ Ms. Rosemarie Hon Yiu Chiu and Mr. Kenneth Kwan Kit Chan to attach to our lab for 1 month in June 2015 as part of the MBBS Year 3 Special Study Module Elective. It was nice having you two in the lab. Thank you for your work. We hope you also found our research work interesting. Best of luck with your studies ahead!
Prof Xin-Yuan Guan, Dr. Leilei Chen, Dr. Stephanie Ma, Dr Yan Li, Dr. Ming Liu, Prof Ning-Fang Ma, Dr Liang Hu and Dr Tim Hon-Man Chan, leading the project entitled “Characterization of the molecular mechanism in the initiation and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma” were awarded the 2014 Higher Education Institution of China – Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Awards (Second-Class Award in Science and Technology Section). The award ceremony was held on 7 May 2015 at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Congratulations to all the recipients!!

Stella’s work on the interplay of miRNA-1246 and Wnt/beta-catenin in maintenance of HCC stemness was selected for oral presentation in a mini-symposium at the AACR Annual Meeting this year.
