Our new publication in Nature Communications
Congratulations to Eric, Jia Jian and Shixun on their co-first author publication in Nature Communications – ADAR1-mediated RNA editing of SCD1 drives drug resistance and self-renewal in gastric cancer. Wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Prof SY Leung and her team at HKUMed, Prof John Copland of Mayo Clinic Florida, Prof JP Yun of SYSCC, and Prof LL Chen of CSI/NUS.

AACR Annual Meeting 2023
April 14-19, 2023 – Excited to finally be able to participate at the AACR Annual Meeting again in person after a long COVID pause. Spent a lovely week in Orlando, FL, catching up with old friends, building memories with the team, and learning new things. See you AACR Annual Meeting 2024 in San Diego next year!

Undergraduate Research Fellowship Programme 2022-23 – Poster Presentation Session
The lab hosted two brilliant BBMS summer interns Elok and Phoebe under the HKU Undergraduate Research Fellowship Programme #URFP 2022-23 in the summer of 2022. Both students shared their work at the Poster Presentation Session held on April 19, 2023. Congratulations to Phoebe on securing one of the six Best Presentation Awards. Well done to both!

Ph.D. graduate Dr. Jane Loong and current Ph.D. student Yingjia Huang (Angel) were recognized at the HKU Graduate School Award Presentation Ceremony on March 7th, 2023 with the HKU Foundation Award for Outstanding Research Postgraduate Students 2020-21 and HKU Presidential Ph.D. Scholar Program 2022-23, respectively. Congratulations!!
APASL 2023 in Taipei
So happy to finally be able to attend a conference in person. A pleasure to participate in this year’s Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APPLE) 2023 held at the Taipei International Convention Centre from Feb 15-19, 2023 as a speaker and moderator. Congratulations to our Ph.D. student Jia Jian on securing two awards – The Best Poster Award in the Young Investigators Workshop as well as Second Place in the Young Investigator Award. Well done!
CTSCB Symposium @HKSTP
